It could be handy if the users who deleted items in shared team folders had the ability to restore them without contacting an administrator.
Thanks for your feedback. It looks like a potentially useful feature.
The reason we don't allow restore from a shared folder is due to security.
ie someone might have deleted a potentially confidential file and another person could recover it.
Couldn't a way around this be to keep track of what the user has access to in the 'recycle bin' of the teams user?
That's possible, maybe only allow recovery of files that the user himself deleted and he couldn't recover other user's files.
That'd be sufficient as well, but if possible it would be a really nice feature for users that share each files thru the Teams account, can watch a "share" recycle bin as well. Sometimes a user might delete something by accident so the team doesn't know which recycle bin its in, and so on.
This would be great, I would take a user being able to recover a file they deleted as phase 1 and do more complicated permissions based recycle bins as phase 2. Self-help for this is critical.
It seems very do-able to just make the recyclebin permissions reflect the original permissions. The entire recyclebin could probably use a bit of an overhaul, as it is now it can feel a bit too much like just a regular folder. It needs features like "restore" (so a file is just restored to the original location) for instance.
